Alissa Greenberg, PhD, BCBA-D, licensed psychologist

Welcome! I am a licensed psychologist and Board Certified Behavior Analyst at the doctoral level. This just means that I have a lot of training in using the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis to create meaningful change. I’ve worked in a variety of settings (homes, clinics, schools, and in the community) and with individuals of all ages (from 18 months to adults).

I have a passion for teaching parents how to use behavioral strategies to address their children’s challenging behavior. My style is empathetic and caring while remaining direct. I will keep us on track towards meeting your own objectives.

My Story

My story starts in the summer of 2003 when I was working at a camp for children with special needs in upstate New York and was first introduced to Applied Behavior Analysis. Throughout my career, there have been endless moments when I have taught a child a new skill. But the most memorable moments have been when I was working with the parents, and when they made breakthroughs with their own children.

I’ve always believed that parent training was the work that really mattered.

As much as I built a connection with my clients, I knew that I wouldn’t always be involved in their lives. But their parents would be. What happened when I left at the end of the day? Were the parents equipped to teach their children the skills they would need to lead successful and happy lives? It was one thing to teach a child to listen to me, but it meant so much more if the same child could listen to his own parents.

Fast forward to the present moment. I'm honored to have the opportunity to use the skills I've learned over the past 17 years to work with your family. The work will be difficult, but it will also be incredibly rewarding.
